The online course Psychodynamics of the Therapeutic Relationship examines the therapeutic alliance, transference, countertransference, defenses, and resistance—central concepts in psychodynamic psychotherapy. By examining these processes, clinicians can move beyond day-to-day events toward deeper understanding of meanings, conflicts, patterns, and imagination. Dr. Michael J. Gerson provides conceptual and clinical tools for differentiating these processes and understanding how they emerge within the therapeutic relationship and inform clinical intervention.
