The online course Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Online for Adolescents consists of reading Lindqvist et al.’s 2020 open-access article, “Affect-Focused Psychodynamic Internet-Based Therapy for Adolescent Depression: Randomized Controlled Trial.” The authors report a randomized controlled trial of an 8-week, internet-based psychodynamic treatment for adolescents diagnosed with depression. The article describes an affect-focused psychodynamic approach, including use of the triangle of conflict, and examines treatment outcomes across several areas of functioning. The study also considers the potential for internet-based delivery to make psychodynamic psychotherapy more accessible to adolescents. The article is open access and available online without charge.
